Description //

A set of illustrations for AMV's in-house wine club. The illustrations were an extension of Tasty Visuals, adding a new set of characters to the mix.

The wine club was held once a month and featured a fantastic selection of wines from around the world. Additionally the members were given a comprehensive guide into how wine-making works and how to truly taste the array of notes within a wine.

Description //

For this project I had been asked to create a logo that would reflect the quality of the fine wines being sold through this division of Ponti.

There were a number of elements that I had tried to incorporate into the logo. Looking at examples of fine wine labels, the use of crests was something that appeared often, however the main part of the logo had to be the word 'Ponti' - meaning a more image based route wouldn't work in this instance.

Additionally, the name 'Ponti' is a homage to the late Geo Ponti, an architect from Italy who had close connections with the owner of the company, and had even designed buildings for them. Ponti also means bridges in Italian, and reflects the bridging of Eastern and Western cultures through the trading done by the company.

The logo type is all custom drawn, based on a mixture of modern and classical fonts and the emblem appears as a mix between a crown and a bridge.

Description //

In early 2012 I was asked to create an animation to promote a new cloud-based service that was to change the way Yoga Teachers manage their classes and students. The client had seen the 'Dot Story' animation I had created for Microhealth and loved the 2D style of the piece.

For YogiLogic I set about creating characters around a basic narrative that explains the dilemmas that can arise with running a Yoga stdio, and how YogiLogic can help overcome these. The characters and backgrounds were all created in Illustrator and then animated in After Effects. Each scene is also animated in such a way that they all transition between each other, keeping the main character, Maria, central at all times.

Additionally I provided the client with logo concepts that matched the style of the piece, so the branding and look of the animation feel concise.

The result is fun and colourful, and hopefully something people will like to watch over!

Description //

During the London 2012 Olympics, P&G had hired out a large venue near London Bridge with the aim of providing a place for all of the Olympic Moms (and Dads) to stay and chill out in-between games.

They had an on-site editing and post production facility where I was part of a team of two designers. My role was to come up with stings, lower thirds and intros for some of the pieces that they were putting together.

The piece above is a concept for a short film that showed interviews with some of the Olympian's Mums (or Moms as they would say). It features the P&G ribbon and also the dynamic lines used to form the 2012 logo.

These are a set of illustrations used for an internal PWC film (video to come soon). My role was to come up with some interesting looking illustrations that would give the video a bit more character and also tie each scene in together with a style. The limitations included a narrow palette and to only use minimal 3D in an orthographic way (something I'm very familiar with from my previous Isometric work!)

A preview of a current WIP piece that uses Ableton to control elements in Unity via OSC messaging. Using the Unity engine opens doors massively in terms of creating large 3D scenes that can be completely controlled by sequences of music. The potential for using this method for live visuals is huge - almost anything (maybe anything?) can be controlled externally - meaning you can dynamically change everything on-the-fly.

At the moment the interaction is fairly minimal, the Camera changes, Silos, Lights and the servo arm are the only things controlled by OSC. The possibilities for expansion are almost endless however.

Watch this space for more...

'In the past DJs have taken over warehouses, fields, car-parks and derelict office blocks. This summer, for the first time ever, DJs take control of a national broadcaster to bring the country together with a six-hour House Party.'

'With no advert breaks, no commentary and no interruptions, this all night takeover will see a line-up of top international DJs play live to the nation with six hour-long sets in a clubbing experience like no other - this is not a programme about clubbing; this is the club. Channel 4 will turn the television into the ultimate DJ booth with the party blasting through the TV, phone and laptop screens, without the mediation of a presenter or studio audience, to transform living rooms, bedrooms and bars across the nation into dance floors.'

Description //

'With a thumpingly retro bassline, snappy 909-styled hats and a chopped and re-pitched vocal which winds its way around the main refrain, 'Mainline' is a positive and worthy reimagining of the 'glory days' of house music. With its feel-good, retro house stylings and assured vocal performance, the new release from Tensnake looks set to be as big as its feline predecessor.'

My role was to come up with a concept for all the animated overlays that worked with the footage - right through from illustration to final animation. Additionally I worked on creating some of the more graphical compositions that can be seen within the piece. The result - as someone put it - is like 'Saved by the Bell' on acid - I'll let you decide.
